Come-on-Boydy-Chris-Sutton-trolls-Ibrox-cheerleader-with-brilliant-Tam-Sellic-Son-throwback-tweet 1

Chris Sutton takes aim at Ibrox cheerleader Boydy with a clever throwback tweet featuring Tam Sellic Son.

Kris Boyd was in full animated mode yesterday while sitting next to Chris Sutton in the Sky Sports gantry at St Mirren. From the start, his voice was noticeably louder than usual as he checked his notes to deliver the “FACTS!” justifying the sacking of Micky Beale.

However, things took an unexpected turn when Boyd began criticizing James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Borna Barisic, and Ryan Jack — a stark contrast to his previous years of defending the Ibrox quartet and backing them to end Celtic’s dominance.

Boyd even brought up the sales of Jeremie Frimpong and Josip Juranovic, while James Tavernier remained unwanted at Ibrox. For added measure, he speculated that Alistair Johnston could be sold in January for £10m.

Sutton had done his job well — he had gotten under Boyd’s skin so effectively that Boyd had turned on the very players he once defended, those who Sutton had been calling out for years.

Sky’s pre-match banter proved far more entertaining than the football that followed, as Boyd, like many Ibrox fans, rewrote his timeline on the events of the past year.

On message boards and radio phone-ins, countless angry supporters expressed their disgust at how Beale had undermined van Bronckhorst when he was most vulnerable. During a record-breaking Champions League campaign, Beale showed his “People’s Champion” credentials by partying with fans in the Louden Tavern before sharing high-fives with old mates in the Directors Box.

At the time, Beale was celebrated as a true Rainjur, a manager who understood the club and the fans, fully deserving of the “Brains Behind Gerrard” tag.

Fast forward 12 months, and that moment is now viewed as a cheap stunt, unworthy of an Ibrox manager, something that figures like Smith or Struth would never have considered.

Yesterday, Boyd was in full denial mode, claiming he never wanted van Bronckhorst replaced by Beale. Sutton, however, had a different recollection of those events, with Tam Sellic Son providing the evidence, complete with a Kevin Bridges clip for extra spice.
